Since joining DASCO in 1994, Malcolm has been involved in all areas of the company including development,
construction, transaction structuring, finance, operations, marketing and leasing and asset and property management.
He has structured and negotiated more than 70 transactions representing more than $1.0 billion. In conjunction with
the executive team, he develops the overall strategic direction of the company and is actively involved in building
strong relationships with new and existing clients.
Prior to joining DASCO, Malcolm was with Aetna Life Insurance Company where he was Managing Director of Real Estate
Investments and directly accountable for a $5 billion loan portfolio and a network of 18 correspondent offices.
Prior to Aetna, from 1983 to 1991, he was Executive Vice President and Partner with Fifield Companies, Ltd., a
full-service real estate development company in Chicago. He solicited, negotiated and closed over $1.2 billion of
transactions and was partner-in-charge of and accountable for all aspects of developments/acquisitions including
initial feasibility, design, construction, leasing and management of 4.5 million square feet of office, retail,
residential and hotel projects. From 1979 to 1983 Malcolm was a Commercial Banking Officer with The First National
Bank of Chicago (now known as JPMorgan Chase) where he was responsible for real estate loan underwriting and asset
management of a portfolio of more than 20 projects exceeding $150 million.
Malcolm graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Appraisal and
Investment Analysis and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a double major in finance and real estate.
He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the American College of Healthcare
Executives (ACHE), as well as the ACHE CEO Circle, and sits on the editorial advisory board of Healthcare Real Estate Insights™. |
