Lend Lease was selected to assist in the implementation of a capital facility expansion plan for the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. The improvement, scheduled to occur on the main campus in Newark, NJ, included eight infill and hospital renovation construction projects. This was the first new construction project of an outpatient treatment facility for behavioral healthcare services which consolidated 13 entities of the University’s and hospital’s programs from various campuses including both treatment and research. Lend Lease was awarded the programming, design, construction management oversight and financing for the outpatient and residential facility. Lend Lease’s involvement with the project, which was completed in 2002, allowed UMDNJ to expedite the delivery of the 120,000 square foot project.
